<h1>St. Charles Avenue</h1>

St. Charles Avenue is home to the internationally known St. Charles Streetcar Line. Dating back to 1835, it is the oldest continuously operating street railway system in the world. A popular Mardi Gras parade route, St. Charles Avenue connects the Garden District, its mansions and mature landscape with the Central Business Distrist. Covering more than 22 miles in lenght, the city’s streetcar system averages nearly 22,000 riders each day.

A major thoroughfare serving the Garden District, Lower Garden District and Uptown, Magazine Street is known for its diverse mix of galleries, boutique shops, and cafes.
