Sights and Scenes: Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Incorporated in 1911, Fort Lauderdale is the third largest city in South Florida with a 2020 Census population of 182,760. A major tourist destination, Fort Lauderdale's downtown is in the midst of an unprecedented development boom. By 2030, it is anticipated that more than 20 new major developments will add 13,000 new residential units, 600,000 square feet of retail and dining space, 1,000 new hotel rooms and 1.1 million square feet of office space.
