El Centro (Shops on the Border)

El Centro is considered to be Downtown El Paso’s premier shopping district. One could argue that El Paso Street, which lies between downtown and the border, is one of the most vibrant urban retail destinations in Texas and most unique in the south.

Office District

The majority of Downtown El Paso’s highrise buildings are located in the Office District. The Office District is home to the 302-foot tall Wells Fargo Plaza, the city’s tallest building from 1971 to 2021.
