Founded in 1847 by early Morman pioneer settlers and named after the nearby Great Salt Lake, Salt Lake City is the largest city in Utah. Home to 200,000 residents, the city is the largest of a metropolitan area with 1.22 million residents.

Main Street

Main Street is the historic commercial thoroughfare through Downtown Salt Lake City and is the focus of Open Streets SLC. To support local businesses, this initiative closes off portions of the street to traffic, turning the area into a pedestrian promenade every weekend during the summer.
