Exploring the Lowcountry: Georgetown, South Carolina

Situated in the heart of Gullah Geechee and South Carolina Lowcountry, Georgetown is the third-oldest city in South Carolina behind Charleston.

Established in 1954, Coastal Carolina University offers an Educator-in-Residence program in Georgetown with apartments and classroom space for Master of Arts in Teaching students.

Built as a one screen, 546 seat threater, the Strand Theater on Front Street has been home to the Swamp Fox Players since 1982.

Harborwalk is a four block boardwalk along the Sampit River in the heart of the Georgetown Historic District.
