In honor of National Museum Day, here's 11 free admission cultural destinations worth visiting in Florida.

9. Winter Garden Heritage Museum and Railroad Museum

Located in the former Winter Garden railroad station, these two museums include collections of memorabilia dating from the early pioneer settlement to the present, with special emphasis on the citrus and railroad industries. The Heritage Museum is also a repository for the archives of the history and restoration of Lake Apopka.

The Winter Garden Heritage Museum and Railroad Museum is opened Sunday-Friday from 11 AM-5 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM-5 PM. You can get more information at: https://www.wghf.org/

10. National Museum of Naval Aviation

The National Naval Aviation Museum is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. Located in Pensacola, this museum houses more than 150 restored aircrafts from the Navy, Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard Aviation. The museum has a 350,000 square-foot inside space and an almost 40 acre outside space used for display.

The National Museum of Naval Aviation offers free admission and is opened 9 AM- 5PM 7 days a week.

11. Hannibal Square Heritage Center

The Hannibal Square Heritage Center represents a first-of-a-kind experience in Central Florida where the history of a community is told by members of the community itself through The Heritage Collection: Photographs and Oral Histories of west Winter Park, The Hannibal Square Timeline, which chronicles significant local and national events in civil rights and African-American history, and public art installations and educational programs that explore the African-American experience, Southern folklore and cultural preservation. The center also features a Visiting Exhibition Series. The exhibitions and programs held at the center weave the stories of this unique and proud neighborhood together with African-American history and experience in general.

Located at 642 West New England Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789, the Hannibal Square Heritage Center is open Noon - 4 PM Tuesday through Thursday, Noon - 5 PM on Fridays and 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays.
