Wildlight: New urbanism's answer to lowcountry living?

Is it possible to create a community combining the best elements of Lowcountry southern living, cuisine and architecture with industry and New Urbanism? This major timber company believes so.

Of interesting note, while embracing the concepts of New Urbanism in the development of Wildlight, Rayonier and Raydient Places + Properties are also sticking to their industrial Lowcountry roots. While many recently built communities don’t include industry, Wildlight’s plans also feature a rail-served district entitled for 1.3 million square feet of industrial warehouse and light manufacturing.

Currently under construction at the interchange of I-95 and State Road A1A in Nassau County, Raydient anticipates 550,000 square feet of retail, office and restaurant space and 970 residential units being built over a 7-8 year period. In addition, at least one park or playground will be located within walking distance from every home and an elementary school is also scheduled to open in the community in August 2017. At buildout, it is expected to include 3,200 residential units and 7 million square feet of office, commercial, medical and industrial uses.
