A brief walk through a revitalizing historic Black neighborhood business district in Columbus, OH: Bronzeville

795 East Long Street is a four-story, mixed-use project being developed by Metropolitan Holdings. Called “The Ogden,” the project will include 72-apartment units. The developer worked with the Bronzeville Neighborhood Association to refine the project’s design and name, which was the original name of the historic Lincoln Theatre next door.

The Edna was built in 1905 and was once the headquarters of the Firestone Mutual Aid Association, an insurance company for Black residents. The building is currently being renovated by the Central Ohio Community Improvement Corporation.

St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 at 988 East Long Street is the first Lodge of Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons founded in Columbus. The Lodge was founded in 1852.
