103 floors above the Second City: Chicago

May 17, 2018

A look at Chicago, home of the world's first skyscraper, from the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower).

1.

Originally known as the Sears Tower, the 110-story, 1,450-foot Willis Tower was the world's tallest building when it was completed. Opening its doors on June 22, 1974, the tower's Skydeck observation deck is one of the city's most popular tourist destinations. It can be argued that Chicago is an example of a living museum of the skyscraper, where the great architects of the world show their work. What better way to witness this living museum than from the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower?
